On Thursday, September 11th, over 80 pediatricians attended DC AAP’s Annual Fall Meeting and Dinner at Maggiano’s on Early Childhood Mental Health: Identifying and Managing Common Concerns.
The evening included a keynote address by Dr. Bhavin Dave, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington, DC where he is Associate Director of the Infant & Toddler Mental Health Program. Dr. Dave’s address was followed by a panel discussion with Shermain Bowden, MSW, LICSW, Program Manager for the Parent Infant Early Childhood Enhancement Program (PIECE) at DC Department of Behavioral Health; The Honorable Lynn Leibovitz, Deputy Presiding Judge of the Criminal Division of the DC Superior Court; Lynne McIntyre, MSW, the Mid-Atlantic Regional Coordinator for Postpartum Support International, and a clinical social worker at Mary’s Center for Maternal and Child Care; and Joan Yengo, Vice President of Programs at Mary’s Center for Maternal and Child Health where she oversees the youth development, social services, mental health, senior wellness, public benefits and home visitation components at Mary’s Center.
