For general questions about coronavirus, families can call 202-476-5169 to speak with staff from Children’s National between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. If you have questions about your child’s personal health care needs, please contact your child’s care team.

 

DCHealthCheck.net is an online resource for providers, government agencies, and families. The website is maintained by the DC Department of Health Care Finance (DHCF) and Bright Futures. Bright Futures is a child health promotion initiative by Georgetown University. Resources for families include educational materials and Bright Futures materials such as activity books and fact sheets.

Healthychildren.org is maintained by the American Academy of Pediatrics. The website is a trusted online resource for parents on a wide range of issues. Parents and caregivers can find information pertaining to the specific stages of a child’s development, from prenatal to young adult. Also available are information on topics like nutrition, oral health, immunizations, foster care, medical conditions, and preventable diseases, among many others. The website also hosts an Ask the Pediatrician tool, a pediatrician finder, and provides immunization schedules.

A wide range of child health issues are discussed by AAP member pediatricians via audio podcast. The podcasts provide practical information and tips on topics such as winter safety, depression in teens, breastfeeding, autism, shyness, and cyber bullying, among many others. The podcasts are all available on the Healthy Children page at radiomd.com. New podcasts are posted live on Wednesdays at 1pm ET.
