Telemedicine technology has the potential to transform how pediatricians and other physicians practice in the rapidly changing health care environment. State policymakers are actively engaged in creating public policies that affect physician payment for telehealth care services for Medicaid and private payers. This new State Advocacy FOCUS resource offers AAP chapters a closer look at where states stand and supports related advocacy work.

A new AAP policy statement, The Use of Telemedicine to Address Access and Physician Workforce Shortages, and accompanying technical report, Telemedicine: Pediatric Applications, provides chapters with valuable guidance.
